Geologist
Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at 18:45 · Lovers & Lollypops, Porto · Starting at €10
Brian Weitz, performing as Geologist, presents his debut solo album, "Can I Get a Pack of Camel Lights?", in this live concert. A founding member of Animal Collective, Weitz's first solo work is an experiment focused on the hurdy-gurdy instrument.
The album draws on electro-acoustic sounds, traditional elements, and a blend of avant-garde, prog-jazz, kraut, post-punk, and minimalist influences. This builds on the abstract noise and experimental sounds Weitz is known for in Animal Collective. It also features contributions from artists including Emma Garau and Dave Portner.
The concert takes place at Lovers & Lollypops, an independent label's space in Porto that hosts concerts and workshops. It starts at 6.45pm, runs for just over two hours, and tickets are €10–12.
