This video art concert pays tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto, the Japanese composer known for film scores including "The Last Emperor" and "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence". The performance features a piano, violin, and cello trio with a strong multimedia component.
The concert revisits Sakamoto's 1996 album, interpreting original scores from a rare edition supervised by the composer. The repertoire also includes music from his film soundtracks such as "The Last Emperor", "Babel", "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", and "Wuthering Heights". João Vasco, the project's pianist, composer and mentor, contributes works from his album "2016", created in homage to Sakamoto.
This live concert, promoted by Proeza Arrebatadora, runs for 3.5 hours from 6pm at the Auditório Maestro António Menino within the FÓRUM CULTURAL DE ALCOCHETE. Tickets are €25.
