Amuleto Apotropaico (Live) Full-spectrum percussion oscillating between elastic polyrhythms and pointillist, gridless movement, unfolding within an ever-modulating atmosphere of polyphonic resonators. Apparition-like drones dissolved by spastic digital strokes, reaching for quickly fading patterns. Following the 2025 self-titled release, Portuguese experimental musician António Feiteira’s Amuleto Apotropaico shifts its instrument-based music into fully electronic arrangements of concrète percussion. Drawing inspiration from Milford Graves’s conversion of the body’s secret rhythms into function generators, Feiteira performs within a system designed to emulate his own improvisational drumming language— session recordings of the drum kit are replaced by sample-based compositions, muscular-memories give way to MIDI-driven automations.
