With releases through Actin Press and mini_bug, C3D-E has been developing a sound where rhythm is treated as something elastic and unstable. Tight percussion, distorted low-end, metallic hits and shifting electronic tones form the core. Patterns repeat, but rarely in exactly the same place. A kick drops deeper into the mix, a sequence starts to warp, a sharp tone cuts through the rhythm before being swallowed by space. There is a strong physical quality to the music: pressure in the bass, dry hits, clipped loops, sudden gaps and sounds pushed right to the edge of distortion.
